Shoes of Giants & Midgets

Freak Museum curates the largest collection of shoes actually worn by giants and midgets. 

Robert Wadlow 1918-1940
"The Alton Giant" 

Robert Wadlow, single shoe with a pair of shoes worn by Trinidad Del Rios.  

She was a 21 year old midget when she signed and dated these shoes in 1938.

Robert Wadlow single shoe (same shoe as above) with a single high top shoe worn by Laviana Warren, aka Mrs. Tom Thumb.

The only known matched pair of shoes belonging to Robert Wadlow.

 Robert worn an impressive size 37 AA shoe. 

The largest shoes he wore measure 18 inches long.

Johann Petursson shoe lasts

Lasts were usually kept by the shoe maker, Johann kept his. The lasts are made of wood with pieces of carved leather used to "flesh out" the subtleties of his feet. The collection also contains his podiatrist's file.
